For someone who has been swimming for more than 3/4ths of my life, I have been through every stage of love and hate with swimming. For years I have always strived not to win, but to be better than my previous self. Winning just comes along with that. My swimming is very versatile, my coach can put me in almost any event, and I will still put in effort and show off my training regardless. In high school, I am a first place swimmer, and I don’t expect any less of myself. When I get to college, I think it would be different. I won’t be top dog, but I’ll still want to be. My high school coach has told me that “Yeah, our first place swimmers are important, but those who fill up second and third are just as.” I believe that if I’m not first place, I’m going to get the highest place I can get. My competitive spirit, and my energetic drive will get me through so I can earn more points for the team and shave more time. Swimming has been the majority of my life, hundreds of hours every year have separated me from the population of athletes. Even outside the pool, I am energetic and lively. I always try to stay positive, and have fun with whatever I'm doing.
