Brooke Punnewaert '22 Recruiting Profile

My interest in college swimming accelerated after my High School swim team took 3^rd place in the 2019 High School Missouri State Championship.  Having been on a competitive swim team for the majority of my youth, I have been fortunate to participate in swim at every stage – summer league as an 8 year old, all the way up to Sectionals as a 13 year old. My desire to swim at the collegiate level was reinforced by being a key member of our club swim team at the 2019 Region 8 Sectionals swim meet where our team took 1^st place in the spring and 3^rd place in the summer.  

Swimming has played a significant role in my personal development.  The life lessons that I have learned in the pool and on the deck have transferred into my academic achievements.  I strive to always do my best despite whatever challenges come my way.  Swimming has taught me the value of a having a strong work ethic, being determined and never giving up; life lessons that continue to strengthen as a proud student and swimmer.  I look forward to the opportunity to becoming a valuable student athlete in your swim program.
