I have been swimming since the age of 4, when my parents took my older brother to try out for the Tonawanda Titans swim team. The coach noticed me sitting on the bleachers and asked if I wanted to try swimming. I have loved swimming ever since. Swimming has taught me the importance of time management, team work, and goal setting.
I have enjoyed many successes through my swimming career. As a sophomore, I was fortunate enough to achieve two individual and 3 relay records for the Buffalo Public Schools District. I have had the experience of competing at Niagara LSC Championships, USA Swimming Eastern Zone Championships, and Speedo Sectionals. Throughout my career I have improved in all of my events, on a regular basis. I have done this on a limited number of practices but plan to increase the rigor of my practices as I move towards the end of my high school career.
I attend City Honors High School which is ranked as the 103rd best high school out of over 20,000 high schools in the United States. City Honors is Buffalo’s magnet school for acceleration and the International Baccalaureate program. As a student at City Honors, I have maintained a 3.64 GPA while participating in the school’s International Baccalaureate program and taking AP classes. In October of 2018, I scored in the 90th percentile on the PSAT and will be taking the SAT in the Fall of 2019. Based on my academic experiences, my current interest for a career would be in the STEAM field. I have enjoyed the challenges of the sport and the friendships that have come with it, I look forward to the same opportunities in college.
