Emily Teplansky '21 Recruiting Profile

A fierce competitor in the pool and in the classroom. My passion is swimming, but I’m also very academic and community minded. I started swimming competitively when I was 7 years old. I’m still improving on my swim times. I balance my time between swim practice, studying, and volunteering for a local homeless shelter. I’m more comfortable in the pool than I am outside the pool.  My favorite stroke is butterfly.  I’m a sprinter and extremely good at the 50 free, 100 free and 100 fly.  I also love swimming the 500 free. There is something exhilarating when I’m swimming as hard as I can to achieve my personal best, pushing myself to the limit and believing that there’s more of me to give in accomplishing the goals I set for myself. While swimming is a lot about the individual, team unity is important to me. I think of my fellow teammates and coaches as family. I look forward to bringing my hard work, drive, and commitment to a team where I can continue to improve and flourish.
