Though I'd prefer an academic scholarship, I would be more than grateful to swim in college, if given the opportunity. I want to pursue an education in political science and am willing to do whatever it takes to reach my goals. Swimming has taught me that no matter how hard you work, or how talented you are, there is always room for improvement. College will be an opportunity to further that philosophy, both academically and personally.
I care deeply about my education and value my opportunities whole-heartedly. Living in a rural area, opportunities for success do not come easily. Through leadership, encouragement, and example, I hope to encourage others that just because we live in a rural community, simply does not put us at any disadvantage. Swimiming has taught me much of what I know about character and leadership, which is why I value the sport so greatly and consider it one of my favorite extracurricular activities.
