At 8 years old, I made a commitment to start swimming for a year round club team after 2 years of summer league. Since then, I have enjoyed the journey from 2, 3, 5, 6, to 8 practices a week. The everyday choice to show up to practice (whether at 5:15 am or 3:45 pm), is not always an easy one, but making it every day possible is something I have stuck to, and I believe that dedication is what has molded me into the athlete I am today. Mental toughness is another quality that I deem most important in swimming, as my coach has always implemented that you can only get so far without it, and I use it to motivate and persevere through difficult sets. My end goal in my collegiate experience is to have attended a school where I can get the most out of my academics and my athletics. With freestyle swimming ranging from the 1650 all the way down to the 200, I believe I can bring a variety of events to a collegiate swim team.
