Swimming has been an enormous and influential part of my life since the age of 7. From summer league, to year round, and now to high school, swim has shaped me into the athlete that I am and person that I have become. Each team, coach and even my fellow teammates have had a profound impact on me. I have dreamed of swimming in college since I was a young child and now I am ready to make that dream come true.
I want to pursue swimming at the collegiate level to build on my strengths as a swimmer. I know how much of an impact swimming has made on my life already and am committed to continuing to grow by committing to a collegiate swim team. I am committed to putting in daily work at practices and meets to attain my goals and beat my times.
Not only do I want to be challenged as a competitive swimmer on the college level, I am looking for a school that will challenge me academically as well. I continue to challenge myself as a student by taking honors classes, volunteering in my community and keeping up with swimming on 3 different teams. I also challenged myself to graduate a year early from high school. I was a junior coach for the summer league that I swam for. This summer I decided to share my love of swimming with others. I taught private swim lessons to approximately 30 children in my community. Coach Lynn, at my year round team, has also referred swimmers to me, and I have taught her both of her grandsons lessons. I truly believe the my rigorous academic and athletic schedule has taught me how to manage my time commitments effectively and has prepared me for the upcoming challenges of being a college student and athlete.
I am excited and open to any schools that might provide me with these opportunities. I look forward to speaking with and/or meeting with any coaches that feel like I might me the right fit for their team.
