2019 HighlightsPersonal Statement
My name is Brooke Simpson and I am in the class of 2021 and I would like to share a little bit about myself. I currently attend James Bowie High School, will take part in the Bowie swim team, as well as continuing to do club swim at Austin Swim Club with Senior One. I started club swimming around two and a half years ago and could not have made a better decision. Coming in, I was just a summer league swimmer so the expectation I set for myself was low as I really began to recognize and understand all the amazing talent in the club swimming world. I would have to say my hard work and dedication has gotten me to where I am today, along with my parents and friends and coaches. I have grown tremendously and could not be more thankful for the opportunities I have had. I know I have a lot more work to do and will continue to work as hard as I can and always try my best because that is just the kind of person I am. I love to be a leader and really set a good example as far as attitude and how we can all grow when we are in a positive training environment. Along with my athleticism, strong academics, and personality, I think what would make me a strong team player on any team is truly just my love and appreciation for the sport and my eagerness to grow.

Are you in honor classes?
Yes. I have always been one to take pre-ap classes to challenge myself and having take part in AP classes this past year is world history, I truly was challenged. I did face many challenges, but never wanted to back down because it was something that interested me as well as something that would be good for my future.Are you in AP/IB classes?
Yes. Yes, as I mentioned above I did take part in advanced placement World history this past year and faced many challenges but carried through always trying my best and learning a lot along the way, especially with a teacher that truly cared about me.Registered with the NCAA Eligibility Center?

- AwardsI took part in NJHS all throughout my middle school experience and plan to take part in NHS this upcoming year as it is offered at Bowie High School. I am happy with my ranking, but have set new goals in place to improve it even more and make my way down. I love being challenged and making relationship with my teachers , so that way I can get the best learning experience and grow as a student and athlete.
- ActivitiesAs I have gotten older, my extracurricular's have become less and less as I have become very devoted to swimming. I would like to expand my options this upcoming year and try some new things possible and open myself up to more volunteer opportunities. I love volunteering and used to do a lot of it through my church and as we have changed churches I also plan to become more active in the youth group and grow in my faith as well.
