Hello! My name is Zyenna Zaihde Martinez. I am 17 years old and currently attend El Paso High school. I have been swimming competitively for six years with West Texas Typhoons (WETT) and four years on the El Paso High School varsity swim team. I am very outgoing and love to engage in both school and community activities, which consists of roles such as student body president of my high school, swim team captain, WETT athlete representative, and Border Athlete Secretary. I am blessed with a strong support system which consists of my family and friends.
I aspire to attend a university that will provide me with both the opportunity to excel my education and continue my passion of swimming. I am involved with many other extracurricular activities both on and off my campus, however, so are many other students applying for these positions. What makes me stand out is my drive and dedication. An individual cannot be good at everything as one gets spread too thin, however, I can with all confidence say, that both my academics and swimming are both strong as I have prioritized both. I will represent any academic institution with the same commitment.
