Abigail Nelson '22 Recruiting Profile

I started swimming, as many do, in summer league where I obtained Champ times and broke two team records in 50BK and 50FLY in the 11-12 age group. That, coupled with my love for the sport and several other award recognitions along the way [ such as high point trophy award(s) ] , continues to inspire me to keep challenging the limits.

My collegiate aspirations are to ultimately qualify for NCAA finals and/or Olympic trials ; to be a team-mate that promotes the utmost team spirit, one that can be counted on to deliver results in and out of the pool. 

As a freshman on the high school swim team and wherever I land, I consider myself a catalyst for change for the better. I have an extremely hard work ethic and strive for excellence academically and athletically.  My GPA reflects that. It is in my DNA and those around me usually see that as a challenge or threat, regardless, we all rise as a team to the occasion.

As someone once said “If I'm on the 'short-end of the stick', there's a really good chance that it was my shortness of vision that put me there.” I never want that to be the case.
