In July of 2018, a torn ACL injury halted my blossoming basketball career. After surgery, and about a year of rehab and recovery, I made the decision to try competitive swimming with my school program in August of 2019. After a pretty successful school season, I decided to pursue club swim over basketball. Now, in March of 2020, I have just finished my first short course club season with the Wisconsin LSC State Championships. My 7 months of swim have taken me from a 28.50 to a 24.71 in my 50 free, from a 1:08.75 to a 55.56 in my 100 free, and from a 2:15.02 to a 2:02.53 in my 200 free. I am optimistic and confident that with more intense training, technique development, and great coaching, my times will continue to drop. I am now beginning to look forward to my future in the sport beyond high school. I will work and train tirelessly to accomplish all of my personal and team goals, as well as to develop into a more well-rounded and experienced swimmer. I appreciate everyone taking the time to learn my story, and I am hopeful that I will have the opportunity to swim collegiately in the fall of 2021.
