After 9 years of playing tennis I have acquired a trait I believe to be necessary for any top athlete: grit. The skills I possess today are a result of the discipline and hard work I put in throughout my childhood. Tennis has taught me valuable life lessons that I can apply on and off the court. Whether in an academic or athletic situation, I am always willing to put in the work to go the extra mile.
In college, I plan to pursue a pre-med track which requires a great deal of time and commitment. However, having spent my high school career balancing challenging academics and three sports, I am prepared to properly pursue my studies while improving my tennis game. I have conditioned myself to be effective at time management, fitting in all the activities I wish to do.
I have played for 4 years on the Varsity Team, dedicating countless hours to the sport, but most importantly to my teammates. Tennis may be an individual sport, but I prefer playing it in a team setting. Having been voted "Most Inspirational" for two years in a row, I pride myself in being a supportive and encouraging teammate. With my outgoing and enthusiastic personality, I find it easy to connect with people.
I wish to play for a college which can challenge me intellectually in the classroom while pushing me to my limits on the court.
