Ever since I could remember, one of my favorite things to do was running. Even in Elementary School, I loved it when it was Monday, Wednesday, or Friday and I could spend my entire lunchtime running around our track collecting as many Popsicle sticks as I could at our "Running Club". I remember feeling completely overjoyed when I won the trophy for the highest number of laps run and got to get up in front of my whole school. I then went on and joined the middle school cross country team and truly enjoyed running with so many of my friends. By the time I made it to high school, I knew running would be an important part of high school experience as well as college.
One of my favorite things about cross country is the team environment. I've learned through my many years running and participating in this sport is that it is very much as a team sport. I've seen how teamwork can help everybody work harder and I plan to continue that on my high school cross country and track team next year when I become the senior captain.
I also know how important it is to be a good student. This year I have taken it upon myself to challenge myself with more difficult classes then I have before, incorporating a few honors and AP classes. I plan to continue my studies and focus on an Elementary Education Degree at a college that makes me feel at home, has a strong team, and gives me the right resource to excel academically as well as athletically.
