I am a well-rounded student athlete that has dabbed in many things and have a pretty clear vision of what I am interested in. At one point, in my youth I played Basketball, Soccer, Cross Country, ran Camarillo Cosmos until 8th grade and mid to later years qualified for varsity and super varsity races for mid distance, ran Cross Country freshmen year one race ran Varsity then on freshmen/sophmore team was injured last couple of races but happily cheering on teammates. Track and field as freshmen ran all races on Varsity for the 800,1600 and relays and qualified for county championships placed second behind senior advancing to cif prelims as freshmen for our school in division 1. Ran as Sophomore on Varsity all races for Cross Country. Due to Covid our Cross Country season pushed back to February 2021 and then Track and Field will start in March 2021 . Junior year I ran 3 Cross country races they were jam packed and ran Track made it back to CIF Prelims for the 800 2:26.7.
I want to get everything that I can out of my college experience, including being a part of a collegiate sports team. I would love all opportunities that would improve my mind, body, character and overall self. I am mentally tough and have been doing track since I was in Kindergarten and never give up when faced with a challenge. I think this is what sets me apart. Knowing the reward will be worth the work makes the immediate discomfort worthwhile. I do not only apply this to athletics but also academics. I take my school work very seriously and received two teacher choice awards my freshmen year by two different teachers. Also, I received a Academic Awards my freshmen with a 3.8 gpa or higher I received a 4.0 gpa that year. My freshmen year for Cross Country I ran one Varsity race and ran Fresh Soph races and received the Victory Honor award while I was injured my last couple of races but was at every race cheering on my teammates. My freshmen year for Track and Field I qualified for the 800 for CIF prelims in the Championship race I finished second behind a senior. Freshmen year for Track and Field I won Outstanding Mid Distance award and received my Varsity letter ran all Varsity races for track in the 800,1600 and relays. My sophomore year for Cross Country I ran all Varsity races. Junior year Cross country was jammed into 3 meets and then led into Track in March 2021. I made it back to CIF Prelims for the 800 2:26.7 and also on the 4x400 relay team. Also, I am part of Avid, CSF, and Ocean mind club at our school we volunteer at beach clean ups and give back to our community.
My spare time I Altar serve for our Padre Serra church since sixth grade and have been Liturgical leader since end of eighth grade. In the summer took a teen leadership class at my church in eighth grade. Attended First and Second Confirmation classes at my church and went to two retreats and volunteered at my church and did weekly Sunday classes. I am now active in Peer Leadership Training for Padre Serra Church this year for First and Second year Confirmation students. I taught myself how to play keyboard.
I look forward to the adventure that the right university will bring and I look forward to doing my part to give back to that university. I would love to obtain a degree in Exercise Science , Kinesiologist or sports therapy of some sort to help others and as there is many opportunities. My father played Football at Utah State University under Coach Brian Billick and my mother is a Registered Nurse in her field there is so many different jobs for Nursing. I would love to inspire athletes in my job career and be a wonderful contribution to your Track and field team and or Cross Country team.
