Hi. My name is Aniya Hoggatt. I would describe myself to be a team player, a good sport, and an athlete with a positive attitude. Outside of sports I am creative, social, and helpful. Academic wise, I have never allowed my GPA to fall below a 3.5. My goal is always to stay at or above a 3.7. I have been on principals highest honors for 5 years and honor roll for 6 years.
I've been running track for 8 years. I was introduced to track when I was in the seven. At the elementary school I attended, students couldn't participate in track until fourth grade. The next year came and I did track for the first time. I did every event, but stood out in high jump. In the 6th grade I won the valley championship title with a jump of 4ft8inch. I also won that title again in 8th grade with a jump of 5ft1ich. In the year 2016 I qualified and participated in the Jr. National Olympics hosted in Sacramento, CA. I also qualified for the 2019 USATF Junior olympics and placed 14th in the High Jump with a jump of 5’3.
I am very involved in my community. Every third Sunday of the month I volunteer in the toddler room at my Saint Rest Baptist Church. On second and fourth Sundays I am on hospitality. I greet everyone who comes into the church. During the summer I volunteer at a summer program called Cesa (Central Enrichment Summer Activities). For the past two years I’ve volunteered at an Enrichment program where I monitored kids and endured their safety.
