Going to CIF Masters as a freshman was the high point of my high school career so far. Even though I didn’t win, getting the experience really opened my eyes to what to look forward to. I love the adrenaline rush. I love the satisfaction that I feel after working all week long and finally being able to show it off. I have been fortunate enough to experience this since an early age. I had the opportunity to compete in all-valley competitions throughout all of middle school, earning first place medals in 6th and 7th grade; moreover, in the 8th grade, I competed in Indoor track - unattached - at the collegiate level. Being able to compete against higher competition challenges me and pushes me to do better. With my season cut short last year, I am anxious to perform again.
In my freshman year, I dual-sported in soccer and basketball - both winter sports. I helped both teams make it to CIF. I was a starting 2-guard in basketball and a super-sub for soccer. I managed my practices and competitions while having an academically challenging schedule. This, I believe, was the key to helping me learn to manage my time and to work independently.
It’s my goal to maintain a 4.0 or higher for the rest of my high school days. Academically, I enjoy my STEM classes. Personally, I enjoy an eclectic variety of music, and especially how music creates emotions in movies. As a freshman, I took Digital Media dual-enrollment courses, and I had the opportunity to work in the school’s video production class. This gave me the chance to try my hand at scores which sparked a flame in me. I would like to pursue a degree in film, music, and broadcasting. I know that if given a chance, I would be a great asset to the college academically and an instrumental player and teammate on your team!
