Megan Kelleghan '23 Recruiting Profile

I’m committed to UNC Chapel Hill! 

I am currently a Junior at Silver Creek High School in Longmont, Colorado.  I’m the youngest of six kids in my family. My parents and family have always been supportive and place high value both in sports, the outdoors and education. I was an all star cheerleader for 9 years (4-13yrs old). My restricted 5 team won Summit in Orlando, FL when I was 12yrs old. I’ve been showing horses in the Dressage discipline, since I was 8 years old. I’ve won Regional Championships over the years in First Level up to Fourth level and in the Adult Freestyle division. When I left all star cheer, I began pole vaulting and track and field. I fell in love with both.  I was ranked the number one incoming high school girl pole vaulter and the number one freshman long jumper in Colorado for the 2020 high school track season.  Unfortunately, the season was canceled. I continued to train and compete even though the 2020 Outdoor High School season was canceled. I had a great 2021 high school track season and set multiple new PRs along with meet/state records. I have a deep passion for competing, working out and I put in the extra work for all my sports.  I would love to continue my academic and athletic career in college where I am interested in Sports Medicine and Chiropractic in the future. I'm looking for a school community with a program that feels like home and will be a good fit to challenge me athletically as well as academically and help me grow as a person. I believe I have the athleticism and potential to compete for a college team. I also have the drive to work hard to compete for you nationally with a personal goal of competing at the highest level in the Olympics!
