A quote that I live by is, “don’t limit your challenges, challenge your limits”. My name is Kristin Loftus and I will be a senior this fall at Lake Zurich High School in Illinois. I’ve always been the kind of person to strive to be better; I’ve never been satisfied with being mediocre, whether it be in my academics or athletics. In school, I’ve pursued the most challenging courses that have been available to me, and want to attend a college that can fulfill my rigorous academic desires. While I’ve been running practically my whole life, the past few years I’ve developed a strong passion to push my limits, and have put my time into consistent year-round training in order to improve. I fell in love with the sport and the philosophy behind it, and I’ve grown to look forward to the hard work it takes in order to succeed. I’m an enthusiastic and highly motivated runner, and I know that I would thrive in a competitive collegiate program. I am looking for a program that has great team culture and a coach that cares about each individual athlete, as well as the team. I have a personal commitment to excellence and a spirit of toughness that I will carry with me to whichever team I become a part of.
