In addition to distance running and school, I have been sailing since the age of 6, and racing sailboats competitively since the age of 10 during summers. I am a sailing instructor certified by US Sailing, and I have been teaching sailing for the past 3 summers in addition to continuing to race sailboats. During the four winters prior to high school, I was a member of a freestyle ski team at a ski resort in Vermont, and competed in mogul competitions throughout the Northeast.

I believe that I am good candidate for being a collegiate student athlete as I am extremely hard working and competitive both academically, and on the track/course. I have a number of cousins and friends who participate(d) in college athletics, and I fully understanding the level of commitment required to be a successful student and team member. That level of commitment is even higher for a 3-season distance runner on collegiate cross country, indoor track, and outdoor teams. I am going to run in college, and I am confident that I can make an immediate and positive impact on the collegiate team where I ultimately wind up.
