Hi coaches,
My name is Grace Micklon and since I was in 7th grade I have aspired to high jump at the college level. Throughout my track career I have strived to be the best at what I do and have continuously worked towards getting better. I have had successes; winning numerous meets, ranking 2nd in my division for a majority of the season, and being named a co-captain of my team; but I have also had my fair share of failures. I have felt the disappointment of a bad jump day, I have faced an injury that cut my sophomore season short. Both have taught me skills that I can use on and off the track, such as how to be a good leader, work together and continue to push yourself-even when it feels you are at the top of your game. These are lessons learned that I feel would make me a good fit to any college team. I feel as an athlete I am a competitive, positive, and dedicated individual who would strive to be the best addition to a college team. I would not only be eager to support and encourage my new teammates but be excited to learn from their experiences on the team.
