I have always had a love for running and the competition that goes along with it. When I was in seventh grade and had the opportunity to do modified track with my school, my passion for hurdles began. Ever since, every time I have gone off the blocks, I still get the same rush.
After going to states as a freshman, that has only pushed me to work harder. Being a collegiate athlete is a great opportunity and has always been one of my life goals since I was 7 years old.
I have been three stepping and have consistent form throughout the hurdles. On the team, I am a leader and enjoy helping others during practices or giving pep-talks before meets. I have a natural athletic ability which makes me very coachable. I work hard on and off the track to become a better athlete and like getting advice on how I can do better. I try to keep a positive attitude as negativity will only weigh you down.
During school, I believe in achieving good grades, so I keep a high GPA. Academically, I strive to push myself to do harder classes and enjoy history as well as physics. At school, I participate in multiple clubs (community service and maple sugaring) and do the global engagement program.
Overall, going to college would be a great chance for me to continue my passion for track and to test myself in the classroom. I want to find the right college which will challenge me academically while keeping a high level of competition for me on the track. Most of all, I want to be a leader within my school community as well as make my parents proud.
