I developed a passion for running through playing soccer. I joined track and field in seventh grade as a way to stay in shape and instantly fell in love with competing. I became the third top scorer on my team my first year. In eighth grade, I decided to try the triple jump and qualified for sectionals. The next season I made it my goal to beat the triple jump record. While beating the record is the greatest accomplishment of my track and field career, it's the things I learned about myself as an athlete that hold the most importance to me. I experienced the value of hard work, dedication, and supporting my teammates.
Being able to set goals for myself and work towards them is the most rewarding thing about being an athlete. I love pushing myself to see how much I can improve, and desire to continue competing at the collegiate level. I am extremely coachable, supportive of my teammates, and as a three-sport athlete, I can bring versatility to a team. I am a dedicated student who has challenged myself throughout high school maintaining a 4.0 GPA while taking college classes. I take pride in my academics and am looking for a college that meets my academic and athletic goals. As a captain of the track and soccer team, I possess leadership skills and have what it takes to be a leader and devoted athlete.
