Kaitlyn Casas '23 Recruiting Profile

While playing travel soccer for most of my life, I discovered long-distance running in 7th grade. I immediately enjoyed the competitiveness of racing and ultimately the relaxation I found in running. In 8th grade I continued travel soccer while running on the Varsity cross country, indoor, and outdoor track teams. I made all-league, all-county, and all-section cross country that first year and that was it for soccer. I committed myself to training and running and have enjoyed the successes and challenges I have faced. Cross country and track provide me  with a balance of individual work alongside a team. For the last few years I primarily trained with the boys team but this year I am training with the girls and really enjoying the comradery. I hope to be able to find a school that will allow me to pursue my academic goals while continuing my growth as a runner. I'm looking for a balance between academic rigor and athletic demand. A team where I can serve as a model for some while learning from others would be ideal.
