Hello! My name is Sydney Hight. I go to Oriskany Jr. Sr. High School in central New York. I am currently in my junior year (class of 2023). I play many sports including Indoor and outdoor track, soccer, dance, and cheer. My main focus is track and it has been since 8th grade. I am also apart of various groups, activities, and clubs inside and outside of school. I bring leadership, positivity, and encouragement to each and everyone of my teams.
What sets me apart from of athletes is my incredible work ethic and mindset. I like to believe that if I can think it, I can do it, and the same for others. My work ethic is shown in a number of ways; from my achievements in school to sports.
I am part of the National Honor Society, if you are unfamiliar with this it is a nationwide organization for students which consists of many chapters in high schools. Selection is based on four criteria: scholarship, leadership, service, and character. You need an average of 90 or higher in grades 9-12 to be apart of this organization and many acts of service inside your community.
In track specifically I work myself extremely hard and push my limits every practice and meet. I am always determined to improve and have done so a lot since the beginning of my career. I am always open to constructive criticism and help. I also try and help my teammates to push themselves to reach their goals.
