Hi! My name is Sydney and this is my first year competing in Indoor Track! I was very successful this past Indoor season, though the only coaching I received was from a senior thrower from another school. He came about once a week and had no throws coach himself, so that was an interesting experience. He must have taught me something right since I won Sectionals, and qualified for the New Balance Nationals in Boston!
I love throwing because it's an individual sport and I am the only variable that controls whether or not I succeed or fail. I love to break PRs and see how much better I get each meet. I am fully committed to track and am ready to put the work in to get better.
Because I didn't have a throwing coach during my Outdoor, nor Indoor seasons, I am basically raw material. I am extremely coachable- in fact, I am desperate for a coach! I will take any advice offfered to me and accept any tips. Additionally, I know I have so much untapped potential because if I am able to break my Section's record and go undefeated my first year of Indoor, I can do so much more with guidance and college level discipline.
In conclusion, due to my coachablity, openness and untapped raw potential, I know I will be an asset to any team willing to give me the time and chance. I am extremely excited for this next step in my track career and cannot wait to show you what I can do!
