My name is Ge'Kayla Goins and I have been running track since I was 8 years old. While running track I have learned how to be a leader and encourage my teammates. Every team I have been on I have had position to be that person to encourage others and make sure we all work not only as a team but a family. losing my mother in 2017 and now watching my father now sacrifice for me and my brothers has impacted me to work hard and be the best I can be even more. My family is my motivation we all want each other to succeed.
In Track & Field where I am 2x Long Jump & 800m Regional & State Gold medal Champion. I am also a Long Jump 7th place All American at Nationals in 2017. Also, I am Alamance County Middle School 400m, 800m, and Long Jump County Champion. I am an Honor Roll student. Academics are just important to me as a sports because I know education comes first and sports are the extra bonus. My goals for high school are to continue to be a honor roll student and make it in the National Honors Society and be a leader and stay on the right path. I also want to continue to contribute my god given gifts to any team to help them succeed.
My dream is to attend a 4-year college and to run track and field and play basketball. As a track athlete any program that I attend can expect a athlete that is going to give their all and leave it out there on the field. I love training and getting better at my gift everyday. I give 100% all the time and I am very committed to any team on not only making myself better, but also the team and whole program. My interest currently is Culinary.
