I grew the most as a student-athlete when I played tennis, where I learned the meaning of mind over matter, and what work ethic truly looks like. Having said that, competing on the varsity track team my freshman year with both of my siblings, has been the highlight of my time in high school. My older sister has graduated and is currently running track at the college level. As my sophomore year began, I had to ask myself what I wanted to do for the rest of my high school career and on into college, and more importantly, I had to ask myself what made me happy. For me, track and field was the answer to both of those questions. The moment I began training and going to meets, I felt a desire to actually be there and to perform better each time I competed, a feeling the sports I played before did not give me.
Fortunately, I am able to be a part of an amazing sports program at my current high school, and I am looking for a college that will not only challenge me athletically but academically as well. I not only believe that I can compete on a college team, but I have the work ethic, leadership, and teamwork skills to positively impact your program.
