I am Co-Captain of my high school varsity indoor and outdoor track teams and first stepped on a track at age 13 (7th grade). In 9th grade I made the varsity indoor track team but, becuase I transferred to a different high school, I was forced to not run that year. In March of my freshman year Covid started. Thus, I've I trained in high school only (no club or summer track) for a year; since spring of 10th grade. Since then, in March 2022, I was running 200m/27+, on April 2, I ran 200m/26.79 and on May 5, at the South Meck Conference Finals I ran 200m/25.95. I work hard and I know my times can and will continue to improve as they have this season.
I am looking for a Div. III school with strong academics; one where I can find the right balance between academics and track as I plan to double major in Chinese (I attended a Chinese immersion school from K-8) and Economics. I'm currently taking AP Chinese Language & Culture, AP English Language & Composition, AP Environmental Science and AP History I.
I scored a 28 on the ACT, which my high school required me to take in February 2022. I did not prepare for the exam. Although it is not required by many schools, I plan to re-take the ACT this summer. Ideally, I would like to be either in an urban area or in a great “college town” atmosphere. I am open to moving to and exploring a different region of the country. My goal is to graduate with little to no student loan debt. I plan to visit schools in the Boston area in late May 2022 and I'm planning a trip to the west coast this summer.
