I had never considered myself to be a very athletic person, until my best friend convinced me to run cross country with her. As soon as I started out that first day I knew that running was something I wanted to continue. I joined the team later in the season my freshman year, but throughout that short amount of time I noticed my times improving and my improvements overall. After cross country ended I began my track adventure a few months later. Starting out as a freshman, I was able to not only make it to Regionals but to the State Finals!
I would say that I get my strength from being on a strong team. When you all come together, cheer each other on, push each other, it encourages you to be better and do better. I have always taken the leadership role in activities I participate in. Such as community outreaches with my church, volunteer work with school and within my community, and on our track team. Behind every good team is a good leader. I am a very dedicated person, when I do something I like to push myself to do my absolute best.
My goal is to pursue a career in counseling psychology but also be able to continue running. Running is not only physically challenging but also mentally challenging. With a clear mind you are able to see the road ahead of you clearer and run to the best of your ability. I hope to see my times continue to improve throughout high school and to be able to attend the state championship each year.
