Lauren Thomas '24 Recruiting Profile

I have been a competitive athlete since I was 6 years old, competing in various sports like jump rope, soccer, volleyball and track & field. 

At the age of 6 I started competing competitively at the provincial and national levels. During this time, I really enjoyed the sport's travel, team spirit and competitive nature. When I was 12 years old I had the opportunity to represent Canada at the World Jump Rope Championships. I was selected as Canada’s flag bearer during the opening ceremonies which was a great honor at such a young age. At these championships, I won 2 medals and set a Canadian record in the 30-second sprint.  

The following year I decided to focus more energy on track and field. Track and field once again gave me the opportunity to travel throughout Canada to compete at a high level. I enjoy new challenges and can adapt quickly to alternative schedules and training styles. My track career started in sprints, but I have now progressed into combined events, where I enjoy the well-rounded nature of this style of competition. 

My goal is to attend a college that will push me both academically and athletically. I am currently leaning toward a career in pharmacy or pharmaceutical sciences. I look forward to being a part of a competitive team of student-athletes, where I can challenge myself to achieve new goals.
