I have run cross country and track ever since it became an opportunity for me in elementary school in grade 3, and I have been with it ever since. It wasn't until my grade 7, track year, where I was recommended by a friend to join a running club after playing soccer for several years. Soon enough, running became a huge factor in my life and has helped me grow in so many different ways. I work hard and continue to work harder every day aiming for first and never settling. I plan to continue and further my running career going into university and competing competitively in hope of a DI or DII school. I love racing and the feeling of success that comes with it from getting a new PB for example. Not only this but the team aspect is what helped me fall in love with it. My cross country team, freshman year unexpectedly placed 3rd at OFSAA, then showing us what we were capable of. Then after some ups and downs, our junior year, 2019 at OFSAA, we finished 4th as a team just 6 points from the silver medal.
I started out as a long-distance cross country runner, but I have lately been transferring into a more mid-distance runner in track working on my speed. I like the sensation of change and the different training styles that come along with it. Although steeplechase is one of my favorites because of its challenge. I started my grade nine year, competing against grades 9 through 12 making it to OFSAA as one of the youngest there. I have stuck with it ever since and continue to keep with it. Overall my past four years have been a bit messy from covid but I am ready to work hard, put down more PB's and compete at a competitive level in university.
