Madeline Obuchowski '23 Recruiting Profile

Athletics have always been a major part of my life. I was a gymnast for ten years before joining the track team in 7th grade and started pole vaulting the beginning of my freshman year. Right from the start I knew pole vault was the sport for me. It was exciting learning a unique event while being able to incorporate gymnastic techniques. Unfortunately the pandemic cancelled my freshman track season which was disappointing, but made me realize how much track and pole vault meant to me. Losing my freshman track season pushed me to work harder and make the most out of each practice. Thankfully I was able to compete my sophomore track season this year and set new personal bests. I am hardworking, goal-orientated, responsible, a supportive teammate, and always push myself to do the best I can. Academics are important to me along with athletics. I would love to vault in college for a team that will help me to improve as both an athlete and student.
