High jump has been an integral part of my life since I first discovered my aptitude for the sport in seventh grade. From the moment that I cleared my first bar, I was hooked. As I honed my skills, I discovered that high jump embodies the perfect combination of physicality, mental fortitude, and precision. As an aspiring athlete with a deep passion for high jump, I am eager to pursue the opportunity to continue my experiences at the collegiate level.
Throughout my high school career, I have worked diligently on the various aspects of high jump including strength and flexibility training, refining my approach, improving my takeoff, and focusing on bar clearance. This work has enabled me to achieve significant milestones in my jump journey including setting a personal record (and tying our school record) with a jump of 5’6”. Consistency at this 5’6” height allowed me to earn a gold medal at the 2023 Region I-4A Track Meet and place second in high jump at the 2023 Texas State Track & Field Championships. I am always striving to be the best version of myself both on and off the track.
I have been fortunate to participate in varsity volleyball, basketball, and track since my freshman year in high school. In addition to my commitment to athletics, I understand the importance of academic excellence. I have maintained a top 10 ranking in a class of 186 and a GPA of 4.45 while pursuing a rigorous academic schedule and balancing the demands of varsity competition in three sports throughout my high school career. I firmly believe that a well-rounded education is the key to long-term success, and I am determined to excel in both my athletic and academic pursuits at the collegiate level.
