Masen Holmes '23 Recruiting Profile

My passion for volleyball started when I first picked up a volleyball and has only grown stronger as I wrap up my senior year of high school in Valdez, Alaska.  I am a student-athlete ready to play volleyball at the collegiate level while earning my degree in education.   

My exemplary leadership both on and off the court over the past four years including being the team captain. Our team has competed in the State of Alaska 3A State Competition for the last four years.  In my Junior year, we placed first at the state competition, and just finished my Senior year as the state runner-ups.  All four years I was awarded to the All-Conference team and player of the game awards the past two years. I have also been awarded the MVP of a 4A tournament after beating the reigning 4A state champs in 2022. 

My most recent accomplishment was being selected as one of 10 state wide players to proudly represent Team Alaska Volleyball at the 2023 Arctic Winter Games in Alberta, Canada.  This unbelievable opportunity led to us bringing home the SILVER medal and playing at an all new level of play that was challenging, intense and extremely fun.   

I have been recognized by many coaches as being a very passionate and coachable player. I enjoy playing a team sport like volleyball because I find that accomplishing goals with close friends is the best way to play. I knew for sure once I started playing in high school that I wanted to play at the collegiate level.  I am an extremely dedicated, hard-working, and driven player who would prove to be an asset to your school and team!
