Danika Petit '20 Recruiting Profile

My name is Danika Petit, I'm 17years old and live in Telluride Colorado. I have been playing volleyball since I was in sixth grade. I have played almost all positions and some of the biggest assets I bring to the team is being flexible on the court and bringing a positive attitude as well as being extremely coachable. I believe in being around good coaches, because being a successful athlete, student, and person, depends on the teacher, student, and parent, its a triangle relationship where they all need each other- this is what I have learned from Karate and volleyball. I show strong leadership qualities and have always had the hunger to win, but humbleness to lose. Currently, my main positions are Right side hitter and middle hitter/ blocker. I have always loved volleyball, but do other sports as well, I started off as a competitive gymnast, then transitioned into being on the competitive swim team for 6 years as well as volleyball and I'm currently a brown belt in American Kenpo Karate. I recently went to China to train with the Shaolin Monks with a group of 20 select martial artists. I have a 3.9 weighted GPA and strive to go into the medical field. I have taken rigorous AP courses since I was a freshman. Currently, in my junior year, I'm taking AP Chemistry and Ap Literature. I have always loved medicine because I feel there is such a rewarding feeling you gain when you help someone or potentially even save someone's life. I work hard every day because I know my future depends on it. I hope you will consider me.
