Awards and Activities

  • AwardsNational Society of High School Scholars Honors Roll Principal Scholar
  • ActivitiesUrban Initiative: Organization where we use sports and play to empower Chicago's youth to strive to achieve their academic goals, develop social-emotional skills, and build social capital. Black Students Association: Welcomes and unites people of color on campus to discuss and bring awareness to cultural issues. We did many projects that we presented to all grades in assemblies. Power Over Periods: Power over periods was a women's empowerment club that brought awareness to feminine issues. In this club we fundraised and created “period packets” which included pads, tampons, and cleansing wipes for women. YPAM (Youth Peace Ambassador Mentoring Program): I earned my Mandated Reporter Certificate in this organization. In this program I worked with other teen Peace Ambassadors to teach children the importance of peaceful behaviors, problem solving, and creating a non-violence conscious flow. NAV Gardens: An afterschool program that focuses on bridging the gender gap in the STEAM field. In this program we worked with young girls teaching them lessons on issues and also doing activities and community service. Best Buddies International: creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, and inclusive living for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
