Personal Statement
Hello Coaches!
My name is Andrea Alvarez and I am 15 years old; part of the class year 26’. I’m hoping to continue my volleyball career on the collegiate level. I started volleyball my freshman year of high school and hoping to earn the varsity title this upcoming fall season. I am a middle blocker who loves to bring confidence into the court while playing and being loud. Currently, my goal is to start working on learning to be an all-round player with learning setter’s 5-1 rotations. I am very competitive with myself, I always see everyday as an opportunity to grow. A pet peeve I have as a player is that every point counts but it only counts with the way you get back up and play. I’m looking forward towards this athletic journey and hoping you found it splendid to look into my profile! Thank you!

- Activities-Volunteer in Campus Ministry; Food distributions, packing food, selling Christmas trees, and helping at a food kitchen -At home responsibilities; chores and take care of my older sibling who is Autistic on the weekends or after school -Help manage or fill in missing roles at my Mom’s Small business during the weekends and sometimes afterschool. -Currently starting a Debate club for the school year 24’-25’ -Looking forward to running for student council, joining Creative writing club, OPT Club(Oportunidades Para Todos; which is focused on creating and applying solutions for social Justice and immigrant issues in the community), and applying for NHHS (National Hispanic Honors Society) -Currently trying to start a Poms Team at my highschool for performances on halftime at Boys’ Soccer Home Games. -Summer Corporate Work Study Training; As a Co-Leader, I help incoming freshmen in classrooms for their Corporate Job preparation to be a purposeful work professional at their workplace, off-Campus. This is a selective volunteer role offered by the Corporate Work Study Program at my highschool. -Writing Poems or creative stories on my free time
