After a crushing first-round loss in the playoffs my sophomore year, we recovered with an undefeated season (21-0) to win the state championship my junior year. As a captain for the 2020 season, I hope to lead the team to another just as successful season.
I played two years of club volleyball for the Beantown Volleyball Club on both their U15 and U16 Elite teams as a middle blocker and opposite hitter respectively. I am now playing for MGA Volleyball’s U18 National team as an opposite hitter with coaching from Northeastern University’s coach Scott Schweihofer. Outside of my high school and club teams, I compete in beach and grass tournaments across New England. I have competed at 18U and co-ed through Joust Volleyball, New England Beach Volleyball, East End Volleyball Club, and Wootown Volleyball tournaments. During the off-season, I participate in PHD volleyball and Volleyball 365 clinics in addition to strength training at the Boston Sports Club.
I am interested in a university with highly selective academics, in addition to the athletics that I am looking for. With a 4.76 GPA and a course schedule of all AP or accelerated courses, I believe that an environment revolving heavily around academic excellence would be the best fit for me as a student. My goal is to study Pre-Med in college, but I am open to schools with majors in biochemistry or similar studies as well. As a National Honor Society student, the academic part of the college experience is most important to me as I am searching for the right college. I would like to find a balance between volleyball and academics.
When I am off the court, I work at Harvey’s Hardware in Needham, Massachusetts, and volunteer at the local hospital with hopes of earning some experience for a future career. Additionally, I am the president of the Make-a-Wish club at my high school and I am a frequent volunteer for the Relay For Life, Family Promise, Alzheimer’s Association, and the YMCA.
Volleyball is my passion and I take every available opportunity to involve myself in the sport; I am excited at the possibility of playing competitively while also receiving an exceptional education.
