Cristina Rodriguez '22 Recruiting Profile

As young as 6 I can remember loving to play volleyball on the beach in Puerto Rico (PR)! When I was six years old, I moved from PR to the United States because I have a beautiful sister with special needs and it was necessary to relocate for better health care. I never really had a chance to play volleyball when I was younger due to the fact that the area I lived in didn't have many opportunities for me. Since 7th grade, I have been playing volleyball for my school's varsity team.  I am all about a good team; a team where we can connect and trust each other.  I am a person who likes to push my own limits and test my boundaries. I  have very high expectations for myself because I know I can always learn more and improve. A coach who truly believes in their team and pushes the team to become better players is the type of coach I prefer.

There are many things that make me different from other recruits. Being fluent in Spanish, English, and American Sign Language would be a great example. I  also have a loud personality and enjoy making connections with my teammates. I am a good candidate for any team because I push to be better in every way, I am coach-able and love when I get feedback on how to fix any mistake I might be making.
