I first fell in love with the game of volleyball at the age of 10. I spent countless hours traveling to matches to cheer for my sister and her school and club teams. I was thrilled when, as a 7th grader, it was finally my turn to step onto the court. I enjoy playing on both my school and club teams and I desire to continue playing volleyball for as long as I possibly can. As a player, I try to keep my teammates positive and energetic. Although winning is the goal, I try to remind them that we are all playing a sport we love regardless of what the scoreboard indicates. Good sportsmanship is important to me so I always keep a smile on my face and respect my teammates, other players, coaches, and officials both on and off the court.
Along with playing for my school team, my volleyball season is extended each year through club, summer camps and clinics. I am entering my fourth year with NET VBC. My first two seasons ended with Regional wins. After two years as IREVA Regional champions, we worked our way up to competing in USAV Junior Nationals this past July. I look forward to continuing to work hard and build my skill with this team as we prepare for another season and possible bid for Nationals in Texas. Currently, I am enjoying playing in my first year with my school team. After transferring as a sophomore, I was required to sit out for one season. While it was difficult to watch my teammates play without me, I learned invaluable lessons about the game from the sidelines.
As an aspiring college athlete, academics remain a priority in my college search. I am looking for a program in which both academics and athletics are fully supported. I currently have a 3.9 GPA and continue to challenge myself with AP and honors level courses. I plan to major in Civil, Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Environmental Engineering in college. I am excited to major in a field where I can help others and make a positive Impact in this world while playing a sport I love.
In my free time I enjoy helping others through volunteering. I love spending time with my friends and family, playing volleyball with my sister, reading, watching TV, listening to music, playing with my dogs and playing basketball.
