Jonaiya Williams '22 Recruiting Profile

Playing volleyball has been an important aspect of my life for as long as I can remember, and I hope to continue playing. If you were to ask my friends anything about me, volleyball would typically be the first thing they name. Followed by my academics, I put my all into this sport. My competitive-nature definitely keeps me going. Continuing my career at a high level would definitely be a dream come true. 

Hi, my name is Jonaiya Williams. I am entering my junior year, which is known as the hardest year of high school. Now is the time to start worrying about the next step in my future. I am hard working, and determined. When I set my mind to something I believe I will get it done, whether it is on or off the court. As a natural leader -such as team captain or being apart of the YMCA Leaders Club- I take on a lot of responsibilities in my life. Not only do I give 100% for everything I do, I expect the same from others around me. I personally am not afraid to take initiative; if you wait around for things to get done, you’ll be waiting forever!!

Volleyball is definitely something I have love for, but not before academics. My interests in the medical field are leading me to pursue a career as a RN. Similar to quick thinking on the court, such as finding the open spot past the block, nursing requires quick thinking as well. I would like to attend a college on the East Coast that will provide me with the best experience.
