I plan to go to college because I've always strived for a good education in order to gain opportunities, continue to challenge myself, and hopefully in the course of doing so have great life experiences. I've always enjoyed team sports because they give me a purpose, and have helped me form some very important relationships in my life with both teammates and coaches. This experience has shown me that being a good team member includes helping bring positive experiences to others. I'm competitive and driven by success, but to me success isn't always about winning. It can also be about improving specific skills, coming together as a team, and uplifting those around me. I care about not letting people down, and when all these things are combined it leads to being a better athlete and student. I have a good balance of being competitive and being a team player. This includes lifting teammates up, and having a growth mindset (bouncing back from failure). Being active motivates all aspects of my life. I push myself to take challenging classes even if it's a subject that has given me trouble in the past. Challenging myself athletically has taught me that I'm capable of challenging myself in other ways, especially academically.
