Volleyball, to most it is just a sport. Meanwhile, to me it is my passion, and getaway from anything else I have going on in my life. I block everything out of my head apart from volleyball while I am playing, and give my 100% so that I don’t regret it later, I know that I did my best and gave everything I had on the court. My number one thing is respect, I have been brought up with values, taught to me by my mother, believing that everyone should be respected no matter of their religion, color of skin, ethnicity, culture, or opinions. I put these values into everything I do, especially in volleyball and my school.
My aspirations are to attend a strong academic and athletic school. I am very pleased that I was able to manage my academics and volleyball since the age of 9. I am proud to say that I have always been an honor student, and took honors classes while following my passion in school and on the court. I am a very versatile athlete having the experience to play multiple positions being comfortable as six rotation outside with experience in the setting position.
I have been MVP for 2 years in a row, and playing Varsity being the youngest in the league got chosen by all coaches from different schools with the “All Star Award”. Meanwhile I am playing, or am sitting out for a bit I love to be encouraging and cheering on my teammates so that they feel supported. I love to learn, help my teammates, get feedback from my coaches, and get pushed to my maximum potential.
I had the honor to be selected for the USA Volleyball High Performance when I was 13 and 14 years old where my nickname given to me by my coaches and fellow teammates was “Smiley” for my outgoing attitude, always smiling and cheering everyone on. Volleyball and my academics are my main priorities. I aspire to get a degree in science, and follow in my mother’s footsteps.
I can’t wait to hear from you
Sincerely,
Dasha
