Hi! My name is Lauren Hettleman or Lu on the court. I currently attend Asheville School, one of the top academic boarding schools in the country. I am the starting libero for the Asheville Blues Varsity Volleyball team and I play for the Biltmore Volleyball Academy National Club team. The academic and athletic rigor at Asheville School prepares me to balance both athletics and academics. My experience as a team player and leader on several volleyball teams provides me with the skills and mindset to excel in all aspects of my life. Twice I have been chosen to participate in the USA Volleyball High Performance Program where I spend a week with girls from around the country. This challenge has exposed me to so many talented teammates which in turn prepare me to face the fiercest competition.
My goal for college is to exceed academically while having the opportunity to pursue my love for volleyball. I am highly interested in the Forensic Science field as well as Medicine. I am looking forward to continuing my volleyball career over the next 3 years in high school and throughout my club team. My wish is to take the skills and experiences that I master in high school and contribute them to a collegiate program.
