Personal Statement

My name is India Clark. I am a 6 rotation outside hitter looking to play at a Division 1 school. I am graduating in 2023, though I realize that not many schools are still looking at my class. If there are still schools in search of a 2023 OH, however, then I will still commit if the school is the right fit. But, realizing that time is running out, I have begun to wrap my head around the idea of a gap year.

I was jumped a grade in school when I was young. As a result of being very young for my grade, I have another year of eligibility for club volleyball after my senior year. To occupy my time, I also plan on working at On the Verandah, a local fine dining restaurant, and attend community college part time to get some pre-requisites out of the way before my freshman year in college, in addition to club volleyball. I pride myself on being a great emotional and physical leader on the court, having a short memory for mistakes, and how my fiery energy and love for the game shows in the way I play.

Whenever I talked to my dad about playing volleyball in college, he always told me that the school itself is more important than volleyball. I interpreted this as him telling me that I shouldn’t play in college, so for a very long time I didn’t pursue recruitment. Now I know that I am absolutely willing to commit to what it takes to play volleyball at the next level. I want to play at the highest level possible. I want to have to fight for my spot on the court. I’m tired of having everything handed to me as it has been living in a small town all my life, and I’m not ready for my volleyball career to be over.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
