My passion for volleyball began when I was just old enough to walk. I have practically been raised in a gym due to my mother coaching and playing volleyball throughout my entire life. This game means so much more to me than just going out there and having fun. Volleyball has been a part of me for as long as I can remember and is one of the few places where I can feel all my worries disappear. On and off the court, my focus is on what I can do to help my team play to the best of its ability. Throughout my volleyball career, I have found myself in a leadership role, no matter the position I am playing. Additionally, I am also a very versatile player, having played and been successful in all positions. With my positive attitude and versatility, I am very confident that I have the motivation and capability to achieve my dream of playing collegiate volleyball.
Although sports are an important factor in my life, academics come before anything else. During high school, I have been able to maintain a 4.28 GPA while playing a variety of sports year-round, including varsity volleyball, varsity basketball, varsity soccer and club volleyball. Playing multiple sports has been extremely beneficial in teaching me how to manage my time wisely, balancing my sports and my studies. My ultimate goal is to attend college and get a doctoral degree in psychiatry, while also minoring in ASL (American Sign Language). After I have a few years’ experience in a psychiatric office, I hope to open a facility of my own. I would love to find a program that would help me achieve not only my athletic goals, but my academic goals as well.
