My name is Sarah Allen, and I am a 5'9", 135-pound Junior at Grays Creek High School in NC. I am an Outside Hitter with a 9'1" approach jump. I have also played in the positions of middle and right side. I have been playing volleyball for the last five years. I first started with recreation volleyball and then transitioned to Club/Travel Volleyball. I tried out for the middle school volleyball team in 7th grade but did not make the team. There were no team sports in my 8th-grade year due to Covid. Most people would take not being selected for the team as a setback, but I didn't. I took this as a challenge and worked harder than ever, and was chosen to play varsity this year as a freshman. I was also asked to play on the 16u team at my club and was selected as the team captain by my peers and coaches. Ever since I first stepped onto the court, I have fallen in love with the game. Since then, my dream to play college volleyball has only grown. Although I realize it will take discipline, determination, and sacrifice to succeed, I am dedicated to this goal and plan to give it my all.
I have quick feet and excellent court awareness, as you will see in the clips loaded on my profile. Along with that, I am a team leader and try to set an example for the rest of my peers, on and off the court. I am my team's #1 enthusiast and always try to motivate my teammates positively. My personality leaves me very coachable. I welcome criticism to learn and make me a more robust student-athlete. I am known for my effort and my belief in giving 150%. This includes in the classroom, on the court, and as a recruit.
I study very hard in the classroom and hold a 4.281 GPA while taking Honors and AP classes. I am also actively involved in my school and community, serving on my school's student council as former freshman class President and sophomore class President, while currently serving as Student Body Vice President which is a role commonly held by seniors. My mindset is to attend a college where I can challenge myself in academic and athletic realms. I am open to ALL opportunities and want to ultimately find the college that is the best fit for me, academically and athletically. Having said all this, I desire to play at the highest level possible, positively impacting myself and the college I choose. Above all else, I aspire to become a successful student, athlete, and role model to all around me, making my parents proud.
