I began playing volleyball in 7th grade at Manteo Middle School. I decided to play travel volleyball for Coastal NEC 14U and it was a blast. My love for the sport grew and I became a better player. I started off as a middle hitter because I was tall for my age group. During 8th grade, I played for Coastal NEC 16U and I became an outside hitter. It was a adjustment for me because I was playing back row instead of just front row. Changing my position to an outside hitter made me more aggressive which made me more competitive and eager to grow as a volleyball player.
During my freshman year of high school, I was a middle hitter for the JV team at Manteo High School ,as well as, a middle hitter for OBX Wave 17U. Playing middle and outside made me a more versatile player. When I Played for OBX Wave, it was a short season and I was still wanted to play volleyball. I began to play for Coastal Virginia 16 Makayla's team as an outside hitter. Traveling to Virginia three times a week from Nags Head, NC made me learn time management and how to organize my studies. I take my academics very seriously and I maintain a 4.0 GPA.
I played on the varsity team at Manteo High School as an outside hitter during my sophomore year. I played on Coastal Virginia 16 Chris as an outside hitter and I also played rightside. The season was cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic. I can't wait for the upcoming school season and travel season. I am currently playing beach volleyball and conditioning to get ready for the upcoming seasons.
I enjoy being apart of a team sport. I have made so many friends throughout my journey as a volleyball player. I get excited for my teammates when they accomplish their goals and when they succeed on and off the court. I play volleyball because I love the sport and it challenges me to be a better player mentally and physically.
