My name is Ashlynn Harris and I am a grade 11 student from Ontario, Canada and I am currently a member of the Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA). I started playing high school volleyball in grade 9 and since that time, my love for the sport has grown exponentially.
In my first year of club volleyball in 2018/2019, I won the most improved player award. Following this, I won the best blocker award at Celtic Training Camp (Lions Head, ON) during the summer of 2019.
This year I have been chosen by my head coach to be one of the captains on my club team. I have become a strong middle player and now I am learning other positions that will make me a more well rounded player with increased skills for the future.
Throughout my years of playing I have learned that supporting your teammates and having a good relationship with them is very important. I’ve learned that the values of commitment, teamwork, feedback, and a positive attitude greatly determine success, not only as an individual player but also the team as a whole.
