I started playing volleyball at 10 years old. I love playing volleyball and this sport has benefited me in several ways. I developed some great friendships with some of my teammates and have learned important lessons from great coaches along the way. I've applied these lessons to life beyond the volleyball court.
Volleyball has taught me that hard work and discipline do pay off but, it takes commitment and a willingness to challenge yourself when things don't go your way. Volleyball has taught me that fulfilling my role to the best of my ability helps contribute to my team. I've learned that sometimes it's important to step up and lead when we have no direction and sometimes it's important to follow so that we can meet our team's objectives. This requires discipline and calmness even during chaos. It means pushing yourself and giving maximum effort.
